William Macko is an 51% owner and is the Chairman of the organization. In this capacity, Bill is responsible
for managing the overall client relationships, directing all strategic planning initiatives, and leading all acquisition
endeavors. Bill brings over 24 years of HMO/managed care leadership experience to USHH. Prior to
founding USHH, Bill served as the Chief Executive Officer of Welborn Health Plans, a provider-sponsored
HMO located in Evansville, Indiana. Before joining WHP, Bill was a Principal and National Practice Leader
for Medimetrix Consulting, a national healthcare consulting company headquartered in Cleveland. Bill’s other
experience includes CEO of a start-up university medical center sponsored Medicaid HMO, EVP & Chief
Operating Officer of Ochsner Health Plan, an 85,000 member provider-sponsored HMO in New Orleans,
LA; Director of Planning & Analysis for QualChoice, Inc., a start-up managed care company owned by
University Hospitals of Cleveland; Operations Manager for CIGNA Healthcare of Ohio; and a variety of
positions with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Ohio. Bill holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Cleveland
State University.
Christopher Reef is a 29.5% owner and is the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. In this capacity, Chris
oversees all of USHH’s Operations Center located in Evansville, Indiana. Chris has over 7 years of HMO,
managed care and physician group experience. Prior to starting USHH, Chris was the Chief Operating Officer
for Welborn Health Plans, a provider-sponsored HMO. Prior to joining WHP, Chris was an Associate for
Medimetrix Consulting in Cleveland, where he worked on numerous HMO, health system and physician group
engagements relating to operational analysis/reorganization, systems selection, financial analysis, mergers and
acquisitions, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Medimetrix, Chris worked in the financial services industry
where he performed leveraged buyout/financial acquisition feasibility analysis and corporate credit analysis for
various industries including health care. Chris received a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University.
William Shelton, JD is a 19.5% owner and serves as the organization's President and Chief Legal Officer. In
this capacity, Bill is responsible for overseeing the development of all legal documents created by USHH,
monitoring our ongoing compliance with all State and Federal statutes, overseeing USHH’s human resource
function, overseeing the production of all RFPs/RFIs from employers and outside entities, and monitoring
compliance with HIPAA. Prior to joining USHH, Bill held the position of Principal with Medimetrix
Consulting, where he directed projects involving strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, etc., for health
systems, provider organizations, managed care organizations, and insurers. Bill has over 17 years of healthcare
experience involving all aspects of the healthcare system.
